Is there any way I could model the beams as DeltaBeams in the API?
There is this nice module that allows for the beams to be verified based on the maximum shear and moment in the section, so I was wondering if I could just model these elements as DeltaBeams and not composite sections.
DeltaBeam can only be created through the composite section for the time being.
Do you use DeltaBeam pretty often?
What is the biggest disadvantage in using the following workflow?
Would it be possible to achieve the same results?
Not necesarrly often, but they are quite common. The idea why I would like to have the DeltaBeam is to be able to get a very quick estimate on the sizes of these (with the Composite/DELTABEAM check):
While the workflow described above will result in the beams having a composite section:
This section cannot be easily verified, but it ensures that the modeled elements have the correct stiffness and that the internal forces are accurate. However, quick checks cannot be performed for these in FEM-Design.

Indeed, the only difference is that with the composite beams I have to check this while with DeltaBeam the model can optimize the sections by itself. This is the only reason why this is so helpful

I have got an answer from the developer:
No, DELTABEAMs are Peikko products, their capacity is taken from Peikko catalog, only for pre-design purposes. It is given in the dialog where the section is created.
If you need to create those, I can probably send you a custom component. The implementation of a proper tool might requires too many resources on our side.

If you think you could make one that would be really helpfull, so basically I have my curves in GH and I just need a way to set these to DeltaBeams. Of course being able to set the connectivity as well
