Surface Load Uniform component sensitivity regarding surfaces [SOLVED]

Hei,

I am experiencing that the load components have become more sensitiv to surface inputs. I opened a script that worked at the end of january, but now the load component refuse to accept the surface input. The same goes for new scripts.

In the picture below you can see that I have some surfaces that are planar, but the load component does not accept these surfaces. Even if I try to recreate the surfaces by deconstructing the surfaces and joining the 4 lines to a new surface, it still does not work.

When looking at one by one surface it clear that it is the surfaces that are highlighted in yellow that is not accepted, all the other are accpeted. I cant find any reason for this distinction.

Other than checking that the surface is planar, what can I check to make sure that the component will accept the surface?

Best regards,
Ida Lea Andreassen

Hi @IdaLea

Can you please share your geometry/grasshopper script?

It might be that you have different tolerances in your files.

Forgot to internalize some data. Think this will look better.

Full script:
Geometry_ramp.gh (636.8 KB)

Just the relevant area:
Geometry_ramp_test.gh (115.5 KB)

Hi Marco,
When simplifying the curve, it worked. So it might be as you say something to do with the tolorances.

Thanks,
Ida Lea

yes.
Unfortunately, FEM-Design requires a tight tolerance to perform the analysis.
As a suggestion, try to set the units tolerances to 0.001 meter (1 mm )
